Top 3 Reviews – Best Driver for Beginners

1. Callaway X Hot Driver

This is considered by many to be the best driver in existence for beginners. It is very forgiving, and even on mishits the ball can still go quite far. It has an adjustable face position that can be set to open, square or closed positions to enhance your accuracy.

We purchased the right-handed stiff version, and have found that it handles really well. As stated above, it is very forgiving and easy to use, so it is a great choice for a beginner. It is a very nice matte black colour, and the Callaway and X Hot logos make it look even better. It’s an impressive design that works well. It is remarkably lightweight yet still quite durable.

This driver is good for players of all ages and skill levels, especially beginners, because it makes it so easy to get the golf balls in the air. When comparing this to many other good drivers we noticed that with this particular driver we were able to hit the ball 20 yards deeper. The trajectory is exceedingly straight and very low when you select the closed face position.

In short, this is the best beginner driver that is available right now because of the great design, customizable face position and beginner-friendly usability. If you want to get started using a driver, and you have the money, this is the one to buy.

2. Cobra Men’s Amp Cell Driver

This driver has great customizability, with MyFly and SmartPad Technology letting you tune your driver to your liking. MyFly lets you adjust your loft, and SmartPad allows you to slightly open or close the driver when you need to.

The Cobra Amp Cell Driver is lightweight, yet still very durable. Since it is so lightweight, we were able to hit it much faster and gained another 30 yards compared to a few other drivers that are around the same price. When we tested it we found that this driver was also forgiving, which is great for the beginner who can’t hit a perfect shot. We like this golf club for the feel it has when you swing, and the satisfying “Thwack” sound it make’s when you hit the sweet spot.

Visually, it is very impressive. It has a nice looking design on the club itself with a silver mesh-style design in the middle, the Amp logo on the left and the Cobra logo on the right. It looks very smooth and stylish, more so than almost any other driver we have seen.

Overall, this driver feels great, looks great, and works great, which is everything you want in a beginner’s driver.

3. TaylorMade Men’s R1 Driver

Arguably the most customizable driver for beginners ever, the TaylorMade R1 driver has 7 standard loft options, 5 upright loft options and 7 face angle options including n/square, open, medium open, maximum open, close, medium close and maximum closed.

The first thing we noticed about this driver is that it just looks so good. It almost looks futuristic, and the colour choice the manufacturers made was a great idea. The shapes and geometry look great, and its simply an amazing design.

We were able to hit the ball up to 20 yards further with this driver, compared to other drivers in its price range, which is a pretty good improvement.

The TaylorMade R1 is lightweight, like the other drivers on this list, but still has a really satisfying feeling when you swing. This driver is extremely high quality and feels very durable, which is definitely good because you most certainly don’t want your driver breaking mid-round.

To summarize, the TaylorMade R1 is the third best beginner’s driver that is currently being sold. It has great style, amazing functionality and high durability that stands out among all other drivers.
